Do you recognize the image above? Who’s this person, so huge and strong? and those tiny little people, who tied and pinned him down to the ground.
You might have guessed it right, but it’s not Gulliver & Lilliputian, at least not in this context. It’s you, it’s me, it’s each one of us. We are strong and powerful, yet entrapped. And those tiny little people are our fears, they are many. Despite our size and strength, they control us, they hold us back, they drain out our energy. Our fears prevent us from operating at our best, chasing our dreams, and affect our behavior. At times, fear prevents us from raising our voices against wrong. Therefore we need to overcome our fears.
What is fear?
Fear is an unpleasant emotion in anticipation of some danger. It alerts us to prepare for potential threats. Fear becomes a deterrent when it overwhelms us and inhibits our ability to think freely. It varies from person to person. There are many things one is afraid of, it could be as big as loss of life, or as small as loss of a doormat outside the house, the range is wide and endless.
How to overcome fear?
We all have overcome at least some of our fears in life, but we may not be aware of that. For example, if you have learned swimming, you have overcome the fear of getting drowned. You did that by acknowledging the fear, training, and preparing yourself. This is what exactly you need to overcome every other fear – Identify, Acknowledge, Filter, Prepare / Overcome.
Conquer your fears and the world is yours! Once you do that –
- Hope will cast away the shadows of despair.
- Your dreams, your thoughts, your actions would no longer be limited by those countless fears.
- You will bring positivity to your life, to society, to your workplace.
Always remember – You are strong, your fears are tiny! Never let them hold you back.
Darkness is a cause of fear many times. A appreciate your advise- encouraging collaboration over competition. Your thoughts through this medium are always motivating

‘Hope will cast away the shadows of despair’ nicely written. Looking forward to next one 👍.
Very aptly described dear Vikas. I am very happy for your new initiative. It’s very knowledgeable and inspiring.
In the current scenario, the topic becomes more relevant. Our fears are providing nutrition to the pandemic virus and making us weak in the fight by draining our energy.
Incomplete knowledge or information also boost up our fears. So to dispel them, we have to know about them.
Spirituality, family, yoga, friends, well wishers, positive thinking etc are the tools which help us in overcoming our fears.
Living life with fears is like climbing a mountain 🏔️ with lot of luggage 😁.
So before climbing everyone should try to minimize the baggage of burden and enjoy the beautiful journey called life at its full.😊👍
Waiting for your next write up.
Well written Vikas.
